I want to tell you about our daily routine during wartime in Israel.
We are at home most of the time. Every few hours we receive an alert on our phone.
It tells us that we need to stay near a protected space because a siren will sound soon.
This happens several times a day and also several times at night.
It’s not easy.
We are all very tired and a bit nervous.
I have a safe room on my floor.
We go there every time there is a siren, together with all my neighbors.
There are young couples, babies, small children, new immigrants from different places in the world, and a cute couple with a dog.
Because we spend a lot of time every day in the safe room, we now know each other much better.
We all know where each person works in normal times, what they like to do when they are not working, and what they eat on Fridays.
The children don’t have school or kindergarten.
They really miss their friends and their routine.
We all hope that soon we will be able to return to normal life.

Today, we celebrate a special day in Israel and around the world – YOM HA'IVRIT. On this day, we celebrate our language, which has always been and will continue to be an essential part of our history, religion, and culture.
Yom Ha'Ivrit is celebrated every year on the 6th of Tevet. On this day in 1881, Eliezer Ben-Yehuda published a famous text in which he called for Hebrew to be used as a living language, not just as a language for studying the Torah or literature.
And here we are, almost 150 years later, about to share some interesting facts about this language we love so much. And of course, we will do all of this in... Hebrew.
Ready? Yalla!
